  1. Need some advice here, per pic with sharpie, ride a few round and reset, hard bump, hard braking, am getting 25mm, is that ok or need to adjust to enable hard braking to reach 10-15mm before bottoms out.
  2. my first ride out from zero km on the odometer, now i clock 500km, been happening only on downshift, the gear indicator just go blank especially bike slowing down and especially when trying to drop 2 gears, initially tot did not engage the clutch lever fully (i adjusted closer to fit my asian hand), subsequently i re-adjust the cluth further, just to ensure the clutch are function and yet, it still sometimes gave me these blank screen. when these happen i release the clutch almost out and the screen is back on. i suspect it has got to do with the gear shifter. coming to 1,000km, will bring it to Yamaha HQ for 1st service and will ask the mechanic there if its a known problem or my riding problem.
  3. Price wise to my budget, tested it and its kinda heavy for me , no other helmet to compare as walk into a dealer which sells all shark helmet, given at that time was riding a Triump Bonneville, got the Shark NANO instead. with the Tracer Gt now, definitely going to put more mileage and started to look at modular. I once had a MT ATOM modular when was riding a Harley Street, when slow, i open up, as was getting into the highway, i try to close it and to my horror, idiot helmet was stuck in between blocking my vision, i keep pressing down, it just wont go down, luckily there were no incoming cars, finally instead i lifted it back up again. As i discovered after coming back home, when open, my cheek is press against the helmet which it should be and not too loose. And due to the expansion on the side cheek of the helmet, it unable to close smoothly which teach me a lesson to close or open before any fast riding.
  4. Welcome Ed.... was supposed to get CB1100EX over any bike, great bike i would think, due to low sales, importer did not bring in any bikes since early 2019, hence my next in line is Tracer GT.
  5. Hi Guys, need some technical help here. Intend to purchase a set of Fuses to keep in my bike, for IN CASE.... Managed to find a local site which is too technical, wrote to them and they have narrow down the link, but still do not understand these 2 choices, which of these 2 choices should i choose..... huh... much appreciate guys. 1. 1ka at 32 VDC 2. 1ka at 32 VAC/VDC https://my.mouser.com/Circuit-Protection/Fuses/Automotive-Fuses/_/N-ba8b5?P=1yocc0hZ1z0z80rZ1z0s1fu https://my.mouser.com/Circuit-Protection/Fuses/Automotive-Fuses/_/N-ba8b5?P=1yocc0hZ1z0z80rZ1yth2vaZ1z0x87n
  6. A noob question, was reading the manual and different fuse amp, I google and it seems not all fuse are the same in terms of size, there are the standard one and mini one. What does our tracer gt fuse, standard or mini, I found these 2 common fuses, one look pointed and the other flat. spoke to ex tracer rider, they advice to carry additional fuse as often bike in trouble The culprit is always to check the fuse first.
  7. 9725H is that model am now searching. Puig did not replied me yet as ask them the height from seat for these model, before the wind hit. i checked with a local youtuber whom owns a GT, he is 6 footer and without a helmet, the wind hits the eyes/eyebrow to give an illustration where the wind hits. yesterday had my wife measure with me sitting upright, without a helmet from seat to head is 88cm. here is my current search, well, limited as other brand mentioned here not available. in case anyone also looking for one. Ori - 490mm 1. Givi - 695mm (+205mm) 2. Puig - 645mm (+155mm) 3. Chepo Brand - 680mm (+190mm) Givi is about USD66 more expensive over Puig = hence if possible prefer Puig.
  8. i have the same one in my local shopping cart, yet to check out.... fddriver2, thanks for the heads up.... not awared need to drill extra holes for the relief oil plug! likely need to drill quite a big hole to also accomodate the ratchet.
  9. 3way.... sadly we are 10,000km apart, am not sure if other asean countries comes with the box. the frustrated part is when i took my new bike, it comes with 3 keys AND 2 locks for the pannier = but no pannier WTF !!! its CKD for this model and they dun come with the ori pannier.
  10. am wearing safety shoes for my ride... not those safety shoes that is real hard leather/pvc, it has evolve to a more fashion like shoes these days! last 4 years rode a scooter after 2 decades of not riding a motorcycle, had a fall and the bike frame fell on my toes and it still hurt now, hence decided safety shoes is the way forward.
  11. Shizzle, is yours 645mm, its a plug and play, meaning the 4 holes fit on existing GT holder ? Managed some 200km travelling yesterday and during riding on highway, have try to shrink myself and lean forward away from the wind blasting at my helmet, the feeling was WOW ! what a HUGE HUGE difference, my cheapo open face helmet suddenly become whisper quite premium helmet! Got back yesterday and started shopping for windshield and over here, we have the Puig (645mm height) or Givi (695mm height), the chepo no brand which is 75% cheaper also gives a height of 680mm. Shizzle, with these Puig, do u have helmet buffeting? am 5.9 feet, need to test and ride more if puig height is good or the definite Givi height should prevent helmet buffeting.
  12. Wow... you should be listed in the top 10 been the most generous gentleman 2020. Take care and heal fast...
  13. My first 100km ride, do feel the firm or hardness, yet to ride further. For seats, nonissue here as we have custom made from fabric to real leather and best part usd80-120. My triumph t100 had the same issue, in fact worse than tracer, got it custom made and it’s a day and night difference.
  14. Was going thru the supplied tools, nothing fancy except these wire rope, care to share what are the use for as owners manual did not state what are the tools supplied.
  15. Thanks Nastele, Placed ordered for 3m 7448, likely will not remove the whole exhaust system as each of the pipe has a washer, not sure after dismantling can used back that washer or need new one. will just make do with these pad first, if not satisfied, will than check with service if could purchase the washer and go with heated paint.
  16. Here is mine, installed it couple days ago, was seriously consider x grip but mmmm... it will cost me here about usd80-90, dun see its worth paying and ended up with usd6 , all metal and with my tpu cover, it locks real solid, even comes with that rubber thingy like x grip.
  17. First time cleaning my bike, notice the rectifier is located underneath which definitely mud and all will eventually make it their home, unless one extend mudguards. anyone cover it up( will it get too hot) or insert a small mesh (it’s still dirty but at least not chunk of dirt). Am not worried on the rectifier but am worry water can sip in inside dunno where. or heck it, don’t worry.
  18. In our country, no doubt we don’t have deer, we have stray dogs, tortoise , monitor lizard. the ultimate reminder is to wear full gear when riding, it could b a short 10-50 miles trip, but when one ride 50 miles speed abv and crash, without gear is like standing to let the bus ramp onto you. I know Fren’s whom have 650cc bikes and above, can purchase a brand new bike but using a usd20 helmet and no gear when riding which is plain stupid. guess it’s like insurance, why pay so much and yet nothing gonna happen coz one is healthy = stupidity at the highest level. when i own a Harley last 2 years, I wore a full face helmet and seen other Harley riders wore half helmet, they wud b thinking this newbies is some kind of noob.
  19. Thanks Betoney, when I was at the shop, there are 2 brand new units and since was so excited, did not see that while my wife was the one pointing to below both bikes looks such condition, and a check in other shops also has the same thing. Need to learn more to be confident to remove it and give a nice coat of high temp paint.
  20. As yours is new bike as I am whom got it like a week ago, does your exhaust look like it’s rusted, was thinking to use high temperature spray.
  21. tempting to get either K&N or BMC, see the service manual, a bit more work needed to gain access to the Air Filter. Seat Removal, Tank Removal, ECU removal.... coming from a NOOB, it looks scientific complicated. appreciate any tips to be aware of certain parts to be extra careful. service manual was not really clear or maybe i did not catch what its trying to explain, especially on the tank removal, i dont see if any fuel hose to be disconnect as that could get messy if need to remove, coming from my noob diy.
  22. Great ! Was checking around youtube, no one actually zoom in on the exact placement bracket as always taken from far... HUH! That have hold me back on purchasing and DIY myself till am very confident to install.
  23. meaning to ask but each time forgot.... on our ori headlight, its LED right, as owners manual did not state what type of bulb (H4?), anyone change the bulb, if any. i try searching these site, cant find, might as well, it would be nice to have 2 headlight illuminated together instead of left normal, and high light on right. are both using the same bulb or internally one is higher than the other.
  24. following up lights on my next upgrades. anyone fix a bar light just below the headlight. am looking more towards fog bar light for wider/shorter shine. if did, how was the bar light compare to spotlight, was thinking bar light would look neat but functional = no idea.
  25. I did not do anything to my Tracer today or yesterday, BUT TODAY onwards , i can/will do something with my Tracer GT, freshly delivered !
