JJM
Well after an almost 800 mile ride this past weekend, I changed the oil at 1000 miles. Also found out that I need to angle my DIY windscreen back a bit as the air is hitting just under my helmet and causing noise. Should be an easy fix. stevesweetz
The new FZ 10 has the same lights but but maybe the connector is the same as ours. I get why an off-road capable bike would have the sealed connectors so maybe the FZ 10's would be the same as the FJ 09's. For what it's worth - I looked into this and, at least based on parts diagrams, the FZ-10s connectors are not the same as the FJ-09. They're also obscenely expensive, at $125 per light http://www.yamahapart.com/oemparts/a/yam/5762d2cf87a86610f0f77648/flasher-light The Tenere lights, despite looking to be almost the same exact thing are apparently only around $55 per light - at least for fronts. The rears are $80 - not sure what the difference is that makes them more expensive. I'd like to replace my pumpkins and have been struggling with what to get - really like the look of these. norcal616
Installed oem heated grips, dual control heat controller mainly for jacket liner, pre-assembled QS sensor to be installed in a few weeks after I send my ECU out for a reflash...then I will swap the heat controller to the fz-07 when the fj-09 ECU is going to school to learn some new tricks...over the winter I will pick an exhaust, have pattonme put the magic elixir kit in the front forks, have Norwest revalve the rear shock better handing over square bumps and them big frost heaves that can be mini speed bumps, install cruise control and then I will start planning some long trips... 2012 wr250f - C-class 30+ age group 2015 fz-07- Hordpower Edition-80whp 2015 fj-09- Graves Exhaust w/Woolich tune by 2WDW @120whp

I think my low-med-high settings are 2-4-7, and I can't hold on to 7 for too long even in near freezing temperatures.

Save $50 by buying here: http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/oemparts/a/yam/5762d2cf87a86610f0f77648/flasher-light Thanks; I think I'd just get the Tenere ones, since I don't see what would make the FZ-10 ones worth that much more even with discount. Just wish I understood why the rears are more expensive and whether the fronts could also be used as rears (normally I'd think the rears would be 2 wire and therefore cheaper). Here's a listing for the Tenere ones BTW: http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/oemparts/a/yam/5626462987a86602c84a316a/flasher-light I'm a bit nervous trying to attempt this in general. People over on the FZ-09 forums take about it being important to use resistors with these lights - and not just for the timing, but to keep the LEDs from being over-powered and damaged. The Tenere lights have resistors but people say they don't fit anywhere and get hot so then they substitute their own resistors and electrical stuff is not my forte. duhs10
@angelocorreia , All I did to get the original grip off (left side) was to a stick flat head screwdriver under the grip and moved it around until I made it completely around the bar. Then i twisted and pulled the grip off. The video the @joeszup posted is good, but I would suggest removing the black threaded bar insert with a 12mm hex BEFORE using your screwdriver and pulling the grip off. I also didn't need to use WD-40 or anything to get the grip off. Also, like @piotrek stated wrapping the clutch side with electrical tape is a good idea to help even out the heat and I didn't have any problems getting the new grip on. I used "Grip Glue" brand adhesive. @angelocorreia check out this thread http://fj-09.org/thread/580/grip-heaters-oem '15 FJ-09 w/ lots of extras...
