  1. Actually, I was riding at a moderate speed on a curvy, wooded road with poor sight lines when the exhaust touched down. I will ride the road even more “moderately” in the future on my Tracer GT👍🏍
  2. That is one ugly road....I just added some fork and shock pre-load.
  3. I tightened my knuckle joint with a sharp rap with an awl and small hammer.....tightened up the joint noticeably, is barely visible, and works. I touched up the strike with a black Sharpie.
  4. I just came back from a short ride on a country road I’ve ridden a 1000 times. I hit a mild dip in the road and heard the stock exhaust header briefly grind the pavement. This has never occurred on any motorcycle I’ve owned in the last 30 years riding that road. I’ve been warned about the lack of ground clearance👍🏍
  5. Welcome to TerryCable - Racing Products Motion Pro Motion Pro - High quality cables, tools and controls for motorcycles, ATVs...
  6. I own a Tracer 900 GT and rode a demo Niken last year. I thought it felt very planted and had a much plusher ride than my Tracer. BUT, I have no interest in owning one.
  7. I removed both calipers last night in order to remove the front wheel for balancing and found two of the caliper bolts were corroded like the OPs. All four caliper bolts were cleaned up (threads also) with my bench grinder’s wire wheel, bolts shafts lightly greased (clean, dry threads), reinstalled, and torqued to spec. I have seen many a fastener that looked the same ...... cleaned them up and reinstalled with no further problems.
  8. For reference, I installed a new rear Bridgestone Battle Wing on my Super Tenere a month ago and needed 1/4 oz to balance.
  9. I rode my recently purchased Tracer GT, kicked it up to 95 mph, and noticed severe wheel hop from an unbalanced front tire. I purchased the bike used with 4400 miles on it and it came with a new set of Michelin tires installed........but, obviously not balanced properly by whoever mounted it. So, I removed the front wheel, removed the factory 30 gram weight, and found that the wheel/tire required 70 grams at a different location on the wheel to balance properly. I'll give it a spin tomorrow at a higher speed and see if things smooth out. The rear wheel does have stick on weights and has the appearance that it was balanced when the tire was installed. I am not exactly happy as 70 grams is a lot of weight to balance a wheel and for the record Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tires are installed. I've read the previous, recent tire balance posts which indicated the excessive amount of weight used on another Michelin tire.
  10. I use endangered sperm whale oil when available.......otherwise and most of the time I use generic HondaPro chain lube. I wipe the chain down every 1000 miles or so with a kerosene rag, dry, and carefully apply chain lube to all 118 chain links.........I don't try to overthink this basic maintenance procedure.
  11. Cross reference chart......I've used the Bosch 3300 filter in the past. Oil Filter Cross Reference
  12. I have owned 85 motorcycles over a 49 year riding career and have never had an oil filter failure. YMMV
  13. Yes, I am running Yamalube 10-40 currently in my Tenere 700 that is currently under warranty. I have never had a warranty claim on a new bike related to an oil or filter failure but figure the use of OEM will eliminate any questions if I do. My Tracer GT and Super Tenere were both purchased used and are sporting HiFloFiltro oil filters and whatever brand spec oil I have on hand.
  14. i always run OEM filters on a new motorcycle while still under warranty. I will use OEM or HiFloFiltro filters when the motorcycle is out of warranty.
  15. I only raised the seat front by 4.75mm........which is slightly less than 1/5” and I did not experience any side panel distortion or gap. Post up a picture of the Bagster seat when you get it.
  16. I used the wheel weights which measured at 4.75mm thick and shimmed the tank with three thin washers on each bolt/screw which were very close to 4.75mm. I rode the bike 100 miles today and it was decent.
  17. I leveled my front seat with 4.75mm of front lift via washers under the gas tank mount and stick on wheel weights on the seat bracket. It should help some. I run my seat in the high position.
  18. I bought and still have the same funnel from a dozen years ago when I owned a BMW R1200GS.
  19. Must be a Continental Divide thing. My ‘19 Tracer GT is level on the center stand. The side stand is not good as the bike leans way too far to the left.....I have ordered a “big foot” plate for the side stand.
  20. Just wait until you use some baseball cards in the spokes! It always made my bicycle faster.
  21. I’ve owned the AirHawk for 3-4 years and even at very low inflation, I just can’t get used to it. I am that sensitive!!👍
  22. I rode my new to me 2019 Tracer GT and started with my AirHawk......I removed it after 20 miles because of the floaty feel of the AirHawk. I have two layers of a yoga mat and a Sterns ATV covering the stock seat which made for a decent ride (waiting on the seat bracket that has been ordered). I rode for 150 miles on a perfect day in Southern IL and MO......I really like the Tracer GT. It complements my Super Tenere and Tenere 700 in a great way. I would slip the AirHawk on for the drag of a ride across Kansas enroute Colorado.👍
  23. I just dug out my AirHawk and will go for a ride with it tomorrow.
  24. It is not bad, but what I need for my height is more elevation for the seat overall.
