  1. Agreed. I never had luck using the 12v power cord for my GPS, it constantly lost power. The dealer replaced it under warranty and the new plug was no different. I finally stopped using it and hardwired the GPS to the switched auxiliary power leads behind the screen.
  2. Also look at Tourmaster, one thing I like about their pants is each size is available in standard, short or tall. For Summer riding I use their Venture Air 2.0 pants. Knee and hip armor with removable rain and thermal liners. LOTS of air flow. Tour Master Venture Air 2.0 Pants The perfect counterpart to the Intake Air 4, the temperature-versatile...
  3. A skid plate is a good idea but at 5.3" ground clearance, the FJ/Tracer is right in the middle of what most "non-adventure" type bikes have for ground clearance. From sport bikes to standards/nakeds to full on touring bikes, they are all +/- a few millimeters of 5.0".
  4. I totaled my bike a few years ago, I hit a deer and the bike slid down the road on its side. I had Shogun frame sliders which were ground down about halfway but the mount bolt held just fine.
  5. Thanks for the info, glad to hear that it is working properly now. Did they give any indication as to why this happened? Surely it shouldn't be "required" as part of replacing the brake lines? I guess I will get the bike to the dealer in the near future.
  6. I will give that a try, thanks. ๐Ÿ‘
  7. Yeah, I'm hoping its something simple because it sure doesn't make any sense to me. The only thing that changed on the ABS pump itself was removing and replacing 4 banjo bolts, the pump remained full of brake fluid. I might have to see if I can make it to the dealer to get it checked tomorrow or Saturday like @roadrash83 suggested.
  8. Thanks for the info. I was thinking along those same lines. I'll be interested to hear what your mechanic finds. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Ž
  9. I recently replaced my brake lines with braided lines, ABS pump was not unplugged or removed from the bike. One line replaced at a time. The brakes work fine but today I decided to try the ABS function on damp pavement. I pressed firmly on the rear pedal and it pulsed 2-3 times like normal and then locked up into a skid. I decided to check the front so I rode through some loose gravel slowly and grabbed the brake lever, again, pulses 2-3 times and skids to a stop. I checked it many times and could not get ABS to gradually slow the bike, the ABS light comes on and I have to cycle the key on/off to clear the warning light but the ABS light only comes on during the skid, not under normal riding. Both pedal and lever feel firm (proper bleed, not spongy) and the brakes work normally until the ABS module activates, there are no error codes on the screen. Any thoughts or experience with ABS issues?
  10. Yes, its actually developed by Rekluse. (I have one on my dirtbike and it is AWESOME in enduro-type terrain, tight and technical single-track with roots, rocks and log crossings.) The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce Lusso SCS Is More Than An Automatic Clutch Cycle World reviews the 2018 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce Lusso SCS in this...
  11. I questioned that myself, I'm not sure what that is. One feature that caught my attention on other MV models was the smart clutch. "Dragster 800 RR SCS and Brutale 800 RR SCS both feature the revolutionary SCS 2.0 (Smart Clutch System) for clutch-free starts and stopping. A technical innovation that allows to stop and restart without touching the clutch lever, making the most out of the in-line three-cylinder engine mated to a counter-rotating crankshaft. "
  12. I agree that $22,000 is quite expensive but building from the GT's features, the Lusso also offers a counter balanced motor, electronic semi-active suspension, hydraulic clutch, up and down quick shifter, integrated navigation, advanced IMU with lean angle ABS and 8 level TC, Brembo brakes, 5.7 gallon tank, single sided swingarm, alloy rims, much larger side bag capacity, 3 year warranty, and only 438 pounds! A (relatively) similar spec'd Versys 1000 SE LT+ is $18,000 and weighs an additional 150 pounds. 566.7 lb (+ Saddlebags, Hand Guards, & Hardware approx. 20 lb.) For an exotic European model the price doesn't seem too far out of line.
  13. Yikes. The bike must look terrible. โ˜น๏ธ
  14. Without any specific details its kind of hard to say what is normal. What is the current ambient temp? Is it reading 200F while moving or sitting in traffic? If it is 50F, I would expect 150-170F while moving, though while sitting in traffic it can climb steadily. However if it is 50F ambient and it is reading 200F while you are cruising on the highway , I would not call that normal. I have had mine hold a steady 200+ while cruising 70mph but ambient was 110+.
  15. So you ride it with no body panels?
  16. That should look awesome when finished, good luck with the process. I really like creative projects when owners personalize their bikes and make them unique. ๐Ÿ‘
  17. @Wintersdark - The finished case lid looks great, very nice job! ๐Ÿ‘ Are you wrapping the entire bike?
  18. In comparison, the MT10 makes 138hp/77tq stock. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ That will be one mean FZ07 ๐Ÿ‘
  19. Details One of the best on the market. Easy to use - on/off in 6 seconds. 22 mm (Small, 7/8" Dia. Handlebar size) for urban and sport bikes. 25 mm (Large, 1" Dia. Handlebar size) for Harley Davidson or cruisers.
  20. @norcal616 - Did you get the kit from Extreme Creations? Looking at the dyno graph in this video @ 5:30, those numbers have to be an extreme tune as they surpass the MT10! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ Did this require any durability mods? bottom end or clutch? I notice that they offer a swingarm extension. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  21. Wow, very cool. I want to know more for sure, once the roads clear up and you can get ample traction. ๐Ÿ‘
  22. I have never used a Scottoiler but my initial thought was the same as your experience, putting oil on a moving chain at 70mph, it must be horribly messy. I cant think of a scenario that an sealed o-ring chain has to be constantly bathed in oil vs. lubing it at the end of each day.
  23. @dazzler24 - Yes, there are alternatives but like anything else its all subjective in how they work for you. - for the screen, EVERYONE will have a different opinion on what works for THEM. For wind noise and buffeting, I am of the belief than smaller is better. Have you ever ridden a naked bike? or stood up above the screen while riding? - clean, smooth air, although you have no protection from the elements. In a warm climate a small fly screen would be my personal choice. - For riding pants, I use vented textile pants. VERY high airflow and comfortable even over 100F. - I use earplugs every time I ride and don't like the type that insert into the ear canal, they ache after a few hours. I use the Mack's silicone earplugs. ยป Pillow Softยฎ Silicone Putty Ear Plugs
  24. I think he is referring to the grab point or the part of the lever travel where the clutch actually engages/dis-engages. - Moving the friction zone.
  25. What issues are you having? clutch pull? or lever comfort?
