  1. Looks great @stizo, have fun with it. Things to consider next (if you haven’t already) are an ECU flash and drilling a few holes in the baffle if you ride with it in.
  2. Brilliant update @dazzler24, thanks for the detailed write up and pictures. 👍🏻👍🏻 It fits the look of the bike perfectly and I still want one. Google isn’t finding one for me though.😢
  3. I had to fix my mirror stems as they were rusting. I removed the rust with emery cloth, then primed and painted (some weird black, sparkly Ford paint I had laying around in the garage). ACF50 will help to prevent future rust, but it looks like you’d benefit from stripping some areas down over winter and treating them first.
  4. Both sides are symmetrical @Stew, so there should be the same slot/peg arrangement to hold the bottom of the panel.
  5. I am indeed 👍🏻 On your other post @Stew, the IAM do skills days, where you get track time with an IAM track instructor. They are meant to be super-chilled as they aren’t open to the public, so they avoid the muppets/posers who crowd other track days. Only one was run this year due to COVID though.
  6. @vic, this is for installation of my Sena unit in a C3, but it shows the straps when it is being fitted. It might be worth a watch.
  7. “Chill out dude”, really? You’ve practically called me a liar, about my own bike, whilst ignoring people who try to give you the facts. And then still insist I’ve got it wrong. @betoney has patiently explained the naming system variations for you, so I really hope it’s clear now.
  8. People do live in other locations than the US @Bill H. And Yamaha have called my bike “Tracer” since 2015. Why do you doubt me? Are you trying to make a specific point or just trolling?
  9. Made in 2015. Or more specifically, registered in the time period from April to October in 2015.
  10. Same method here. I pick a link near the centre of the two sprockets and find a reference point, normally the pin on the link as it is easy to see and small. I measure its resting position, then push up gently until the chain is resisting me, it doesn’t have to be pushed up hard, and measure again. On my ‘15 plate I look for around 25 to 30mm.
  11. If you’ve not encountered a youtuber called motojitsu before, he’s got a great channel about riding techniques that I’ve been following for a while. More relevant for this forum, he’s just bought a Tracer and loves it.😁
  12. I have engine bars, but the lower parts of the engine still looked like they could touch in a slide, so I went for these, or something very like them. At this price they are disposable. Engine Cover Guard Sliders Protector Black For YAMAHA FZ09 FJ09 MT-09 Tracer XSR For YAMAHA MT-09,FZ09,MT-09 Tracer,FJ09,Tracer 900/GT and XSR900...
  13. It is almost certainly the spring rate too low for the combined weight of you and your passenger. If you have increased the preload to the maximum you only have two options: trim the rubber stop on the centre stand so it sits slightly higher, or more importantly a higher rate shock spring (even better, a new, better shock that has been sprung for your combined weight).
  14. Brake line flex would be a consistently poor feel to the brakes. If the pressure comes up when you pull on the lever the second time, you probably have a big bubble trapped in the lines, which are sometimes difficult to clear. Pull the lever in tight, then tie a strap or cable tie around the lever and leave it overnight. The increased pressure makes the bubble smaller and more likely to work its way out.
  15. I’ve not experienced the effect you mention @dazzler24, but just want to give you a heads up. If you are adjusting the angles when you’re out riding, make sure you’re on a clean surface when you stop. I tried to alter mine in a gravel car park, undid the adjusters, a piece flew off and I never saw it again! I had to bungee the screen to the back seat and buy another one when I got home.
  16. Shite news @Stew. Will it go back in if it popped out, or is it damaged?
  17. It’s all much tighter now, they lose their testing license if caught passing sub-standard vehicles.
  18. Emissions aren’t checked on a bike @Stew, somewhat bizarrely when they are picky about lots of other things.
  19. please post lots of pictures when it arrives @dazzler24. It’s always been on my long-term/probably-never list to source or build a solid seat cowl so I’m very curious.
  20. Welcome @AaronCh. Have fun on the new bike.
