  1. If you’re there again @Dodgy Knees, drop me a PM and I’ll come and watch or just say hello. I’m only about 40 minutes from there.
  2. @Dodgy Knees, some ACF50 on the alloy will help with that oxidation on your seat lock support.
  3. I would just try adjusting the shift lever rod, perhaps by shortening it a touch and see if that helps.
  4. This engine likes to be revved. Average UK riding is in 3rd or 4th unless I’m on a dual carriageway or motorway.
  5. +1 on ordering a kit. I went with this. Yamaha MT09 Tracer DID Gold X-Ring Heavy Duty Chain & JT Sprocket Kit Set Yamaha MT09 Tracer. JT sprockets are made using only the best available...
  6. I don’t recall reading of anything similar @charlie, sorry to be of no further help with your first post. At least it is with the dealer and you weren’t stranded.
  7. Nice looking in all black @Stew. I see rad guard, led indicators, screen, beak and driving lights? Any other mods?
  8. @Stew, you need these 😄 Rev'it Acid H2O Waterproof Trouser - Black - FREE UK DELIVERY Rev'it Acid H2O Waterproof Trouser - Black from the UK's leading online...
  9. Enter diagnostic mode, then go to code 62 to clear the history.
  10. Some pages from the manual for you. More detail on code 13. You’ll see that the failsafe is for the bike to run properly.
  11. @Seetth, that code is “intake air pressure sensor”, shown in the list above. It probably means that you disturbed something during your throttle body synch, or left something off. It may be worth clearing the code and if it comes back, going back under the tank and checking around where you did the work.
  12. Welcome to the forum @Zedalphus
  13. Try changing the fluid completely. It’s only a small circuit so if the fluid has absorbed water it really shows up. As above, HH pads are good, and it is easy to provoke the ABS when it all works properly.
  14. That’s good looking 🤤
  15. Great username @Arsenaldeb, good to see a Manchester United fan on the board 🤪 +1 for @betoney comment about a radiator guard, the evotech one is excellent. EP Yamaha Tracer 900 GT Radiator Guard 2018+ Evotech Performance radiator guards attach to your bike’s existing...
  16. I hit a kerb with a good whack and it bent some of the brackets and twisted one side of the plate. But, it did its job perfectly, i.e. it protected the sump and when I got home I just straightened everything back out and refitted it.
  17. Hi @Dobbo, welcome to the forum 👋
  18. It would be very funny if you had a doll strapped in and had it mounted backwards. Drivers could see it as you overtook them 😁 You’d probably get pulled over though.
  19. welcome to the forum @fenj66. Where in the UK are you?
  20. Welcome to the forum @Lisa. The main problem people have is with tall screens as there is much more scope for turbulence and noise. If you’re going for a shortie then pretty much any of the cheap ebay ones will do fine as you’ll have to accept that you get lots of wind pressure, but at least the flow is clean. I swap to an opaque shorty for summer that just covers the instruments and cost about £15.
  21. Volunteer role. Urgent blood deliveries, but not emergency. We’re not allowed to use the blue lights, but still cool though.
  22. Ouch! £570 for a new wheel on this side of the pond. Any chance you could cancel the order and pick up one from a breaker?
  23. When I’m doing a blood delivery, I ride my Tracer from home, then pick up an FJR (fully liveried, looks just like a police bike, with a huge rack for the insulated box on the back, panniers etc) to do the run, the back to the Tracer for the ride home again. It’s about three hours all in, back-to-back on the two different bikes, a mix of traffic, motorway and slow riding around the hospital, plus manhandling both bikes into small storage sheds. So I get a good comparison of the two. FJR : feels heavy/solid to ride, short geared, lower seat, and the screen is still too short for me on the motorway, even when electrically driven all the way up. I don’t like tight, slow manoeuvres as it feels like it tips in. A brute to move around into the storage shed. Tracer: feels light, narrow, hooligan. Wide bars make it easy to manoeuvre at any speed. Revs easily, taller gearing. Upright sitting position but the seat feels unpadded after the FJR. Easy to push around into sheds. I’m biased, but the Tracer is better for me for most things and can tour. The FJR seems like it is good for touring and a poorer bike for everything else. Chain maintenance is easy by the way.
  24. WD40 makes a surprisingly good plastic cleaner/polish. It leaves a slight film that stops plastics from UV damage and drying out. Spray onto the surface and then wipe around until dry to the touch. Worth a try and cheap.
