Hi Norcal What do you think of FZ-07, I'm thinking of doing a Streettracker based on the 07. Still in the thinking stage of this and trying to get an idea of how much money I'm going to piss away on this build🤔

I can't argue that the S1000XR is not a great bike. I had an S1000rr best bike I have ever owned, what an incredible engine. I traded it in on the 900GT because I had my neck fused and I couldn't ride the bike without pain. I looked real hard at a new XR and I just could not justify the price. Good luck with your hunt for the XR, you will not be disappointed.

Take a look at X-ARC signals. I put them on and very happy with the signals even in the sun.

I would say it is a no-brainer, go for a new GT. If you have any crash protection and other upgrades take them off and throw them on the GT.

I hope it works for HD, should have been done a long time ago. The only problem is they will be sold by select dealerships, just like Buells were. We all know how Harley salesman and dealers treated prospective Buell buyers and owners.

Rockinsv, as a fellow widower my heart goes out to you. You did a great job of taking care of your wife and making memories to get you through the sad times because in the end, that is all you have.

I finished the last of the farkles on the GT for now. So the list is Yamaha radiator guard, frame sliders and rear rack. R&G case sliders, front axle and swingarm sliders. Givi universal top plate and 30-liter Monokey top case. Oxford 4 liter tank bag and ring. MRA touring windscreen, X-Arch turn signals front and back. Lighttech chain adjusters and PSR adjustable long levers. The only thing that remains for next year is the 320mm front brake rotors and braided lines. Time for the ice and salt to get off the road and ride!

All my bikes live on a tender in a garage that doesn't get below 40 degrees in the winter. Four years seems to be the magic number on service life.

Mine came with a cracked case lid and had to wait two months for a replacement.

I don't think having the rear luggage rack with top case helps much.

Nice job Wordsmith, it is really sad how bad the tail light is on these bikes. I ended up putting on X-Arch duo signal brake lights on my GT. With the top case on the bike, the brake light was barely visible in the daylight and not much better in the dark.

I have no problem with the flash rate on the signals themselves, that can be changed with the magnet. The problem I'm having is with a hyper-fast turn signal indicator light in the instrument panel. I will try the TST flasher relay and is if this cures the problem.

I put the X-arch signals on my Tracer GT, I'm very happy with them. Do your cluster indicator lights flash to rapidly or did you go with an led signal relay in?

The Akrapovic exhaust looks great on the bike. How much lighter is it than the stock system?

That is pretty much my experience with it too.

If you are reading tire pressure off the side of the tire that is the max tire pressure for the tire. Use the tire pressure in the owners manual as a starting point.

You have all the hard to find rear luggage for the XR!
