  1. You have all the hard to find rear luggage for the XR!
  2. Having owned a BMW S1000rr and loving the bike, I had to sell her because of nerve damaged in my neck. I looked real hard at the S1000XR and probably put around a 100mi on one test riding it, I noticed more vibration in the bars on the XR than my rr had. I could not justify the cost of the XR outfitted like the Tracer GT. You are not going to be able to shut off the service light on the XR without a special tool or pay the dealer to do it for you, the Tracer is a much cheaper bike to operate and the insurance cost is less. That being said the XR is an awesome bike and if that is the bike you want, go for it. You only live once but can go bankrupt many times.
  3. Does a picture of a dead Deer by the side of the road count? They are littering the road where I live in PA.
  4. Take the fender and the extender to an auto body shop, they have all types of adhesives for fixing plastics on cars. They probably won't charge you more than a couple of bucks.
  5. I have a Scorpion EXO-1100 it is a couple of years old but I really like it. The helmet is noisier than my past Shoie but the price was right. My only complaint is the cost of replacement shields and how easily they scratch.
  6. @roadrash83 this was my original post. Awesome thank you very much!
  7. This is all you need.... Part #s …. 4R8-21308-01 2SC-2115J-00 90149-06154 Thanks, have you mounted any of these to your bike? I'm looking for a place to put one on the Tracer GT
  8. I just want a helmet lock that is not a hassle to use and is attached to the bike. Like the Japanese manufacturers put on all of the bikes back in the old days.
  9. I have a Scorpion EXO-1100 helmet That I really like but it is a little louder than some of the helmets I have had in the past. The EXO that I have is DOT and ECE compliant.
  10. bowlin01, you better watch out for low overpasses with that screen. Hope it does the job for you.
  11. I have the Yamaha accessory rear rack and the Givi universal mount with a Givi 30L aluminum top case on my GT. No problem with the mount or height on my bike with this configuration if that helps.
  12. Also check your chain tension. Just had the 20,000 mile service done and they set the chain tension to Yamaha "spec" (0.20-0.59 in) And an increase of buzz at high speed was noticed. Adjusted to ~1" all is well again... Why do dealers always set chains to tight? Had my XR1200 in to have a rear wheel replaced under warranty and when I get the bike back the belt was as tight as a guitar string.
  13. Dawg we need to get together and swap some screens and go for a ride.
  14. Congratulations on your GT, I thought all the dealers sold out of them. Also, remember you are always one bike short of enough.
  15. Happyrider do you have a link to the aerofoil? Thanks
  16. I installed the Yamaha frame slidders and radiator guard, I got a deal from the dealer. I went with the R&G 3 piece engine case cover set and R&G axle sliders for and aft.
  17. Remember Ethanol is one of the reasons steak is so expensive!
  18. That is what the Yamaha factory shop manual says. You can rotate the handlebar by loosening the top clamps. Make sure you turn the bars fully in each direction to make sure nothing hits.
  19. By rotating the lower handlebar holders 180 degrees you can move the bars forward assuming the bikes are shipped in the rear position. The Yamaha shop manual has the torque as follows. Upper handlebar holder bolts at 16ft-lb Lowe handlebar holder bolts at 30ft-lb Hope this works out for you.
  20. I installed the MRA touring windscreen in light smoke last night. I took the Tracer out for a 100mi ride today, mostly back roads 70mph or below. I must admit I'm very pleased with the reduction in wind noise and helmet buffeting. Time will tell if this is the final answer for me. At 6'3" nothing is going to block all the wind and I don't want the glass shower door look.
  21. You hit the nail on the head, David. You would be amazed at how many riders don't even check the air in the tires nowadays. I see this a lot at the bike shop my friend owns. Bikes coming in for state inspections with 10psi in the tires, He asks them when the last time they checked the tire pressure. Replay last time you inspected it!
  22. Twisted Throttle Has pre-order double points special on the MRA touring windscreen for $144.95. I ordered one in smoke, I hope this does the job for my 6'3" height. If not they have a great return policy.
  23. Gerdawg I would be very interested in seeing the screen if that is ok. I am located in North Wales PA. Thanks, Rick
  24. Harraseeket, Do you have any pictures of the Yamaha touring screen on the bike. I'm 6'3' and really looking for a solution! Thanks
  25. I'm learning to live with it as am also trying to find the side stand without looking at it. Life ain't easy for people with size 13 feet.
