  1. Replaced the fronts with EBC HH and love them. The rear was really bad, stock. Replaced the rear pads with EBC, still crappy. I think if I adjusted the pedal a bit it might be better but for now you might as well throw a brick out on a rope for stopping. Definitely going to put on steel lines. I go mountain riding almost exclusively with the go fast guys. The brakes are certainly adequate, though not too impressive.
  2. I'm guessing that was for me. I am not a fan of pipe changes anymore, though in the past I've done it. The little bit of added grunt and lesser weight would probably be achieved by taking a school or riding with the guys who know how to ride and take their suggestions and watch their lines. Finally, I don't like giving radar gun officer a notice I'm heading towards them on the boil.
  3. That's exactly what I was thinking.
  4. Welcome. The bike is so much fun, surely you'll put a lot of miles on it just going nowhere and everywhere. What part of the world are you now? Maybe someone living in your area will meet up with you and go for a ride. I would if you live in northern IN.
  5. Please tell me that riding 50 years is not enough. I've got 48 years under me and I'm just getting started. I do rarely ride my Goldwing anymore but my wife wants me to keep it for the few times a year that she wants some wind therapy.
  6. I have a Givi screen on mine but not that particular one. I like it. I just always leave it in the lowesr position.
  7. I don't want to pee in your punch bowl but DOT regulations don't allow amber running lights to the rear. Amber blinkers are fine but not solid amber, to the rear. Whether or not you might get cited for it is another matter.
  8. I've had my beak for a while now and have not noticed any issues with it. I like the way it looks too.
  9. I don't want to pee in your Post Toasties but you are not legal having a lit amber light to the rear. You can have a turn signal thats amber but not a lit bulb, at the rear. I was a trucker for years and got a citation for having one amber lens in the middle of my rear facing running lights. Just so you know.
  10. Which is a very fun road if taken mostly in the 70-80 mph range.
  11. Looks like your bike would fit between the posts. I won't tell anyone.
  12. I have the AK 20s in my 1800 Wing. Great setup, totally changed that bike. Still have the stock setup on my FJ. Retired, so I don't have spare cash laying around. Of course it's better stock than the Wing with premium suspension. Weight kills.
  13. Are you sure it's not in B mode when this happens? IIRC, the B mode not only has less power, I think I read where it also has a lower redline than A or STD mode. Shocked me, but I don't worry about it by only using STD and A mode.
  14. Extremely way too high. I have a Goldwing also, wheel torque is 80 lbs-ft. I fasten the rear axle by feel always. I usually have worn out a tire before I ever need to adjust the chain so it's not a problem.
  15. Especially a pain to fill with oil with the Givi crash bars.
  16. Really? You can tell the difference in acceleration between 10 weight of oil? I'm skeptical.
  17. I still have my Goldwings and I've put over 200K on car tires on the rear. I'd never go back. In fact when I got my 2013 Wing, I put the car tire on before I hit 500 miles.
  18. Thanks for the pics, Nashtel. I liked the gold forks before I saw what you did. Nice.
