I like a clean installation. I went with the MotoDynamics, and nixed the pumpkins altogether (even the 12oclock Labs signals I had on previously), and just went with the turn signals in the CustomLed brake light.

Hmmm. That's quite an interesting piece of kit. I like it, especially the "compass" mode where you find your own roads. If you are using a Madstad screen, their mount has holes which line up perfectly with the RAM clutch/brake lever mounts. No need to drill anything. Just bolt and go. That's what I've done to mount my Zumo.

Affirm, same here. In my case, I feel that the mirror's ball and cup are not as tight on my right mirror as the left. That, combined with the specific resonances observed at very similar speeds lead to the right mirror vibrating worse than the left.

You absolutely, positively, want to go with the larger model if you're planning on carrying anything other than a 12oz soda can. The small one is too prone to tipping over when the center of gravity gets too high.

I think BMW knows VERY well that HD is in a death spiral, which means there is about to be a huge new market segment for the taking. All of the motorcycle manufacturers are going after new ground. That's why Honda chose to market the new wings to the younger crowd. Not that my butt will ever be sitting on a BMW. No way, no how.

I had my bike for three days when a car side swiped my left bag and put some nice deep scratches in it. I had thought about trying to paint it with the DYRC4 cocktail, but I'm terrible at painting, and the local paint shops wanted over $200 to paint both bag lids, with ME providing the paint. Freakin 'eh! So I just filled in the scratches with bondo, and dipped them in a satin black. Looks good enough to me!

Precisely. It is the discretion of the state where the offense took place to determine if it should be forwarded on. I've gotten speeding tickets in TN (less than 15+) that I never saw on my driving record in SC.

It's all part of the NHTSA National Driver Registry and the "Problem Driver Pointer System" which contains information on individuals whose privilege to operate a motor vehicle has been revoked, suspended, canceled or denied or who have been convicted of serious traffic-related offenses.

You could use whatever connectors you want. I purchased a few male/female 3-pin MT .090 sets because that's the connector used for the tail light. They are very easy to assemble as long as you have a quality crimper. They're waterproof. Motorcycle MT .090 Sealed Series - Connector and Terminals Sumitomo - HM Sealed(Mounting Bracket type) and MT Sealed type... I had initially wanted to create a full 13-pin TS 025 subharness, but I couldn't find that connector in the states and would have had to order it from Japan. So I just cut the three wires (chocolate, white/brown and dark green), and crimped on the connectors.

Installed both the STS Smart Turn and Smart Brake Modules today. Created my own plug and play wiring harnesses for them to allow for quick removal if I ever wanted to move them to another ride. Been wanting to do this for a while, but never could get them shipped from the manufacturer. So I found a reseller on e-Bay and had them in 3 days. Lovely! And I can say that they work beautifully. I swear there must be some kind of genie living in them working its magic, because that's what it feels like. No problems at all during the installation. Anyone can do this if they just take their time, though I would definitely recommend cutting off and throwing away the nasty bullet connectors that it comes with.

Tire diameter has a bigger impact on measured speed than any other factor (the only factor?). A tire which is inflated slightly higher or has a taller side wall will naturally turn fewer rotations for the same distance traveled. I suspect that the factory purposefully calibrates the speedo on the higher side to account for these types of allowances. Just measure your speed at the posted speed limit ONCE using another device and do the math in your head going forward. It's not rocket science. My Suzuki Burgman used to say I was going 110mph when I was barely keeping up with interstate traffic. Never concerned myself with it.

Of all the accessories that you mentioned, I don't think that any of them other than the lights would draw very much current. I have an Innov K2 on my Wing and if memory serves me correctly the whole installation draws only about 1.5A. The one thing that I'm not familiar with is the speedo-healer. I don't know how that works, or how it ties into the bikes ECU. Wondering if something could be amiss there.

With P being pressure, and t being the time between oil changes, then the equation is F=P/t*0.8 With F being the amount of ***** given.

We're looking at Ideal Gas Law here. Which basically states P1*V1/T1 = P2*V2/T2 where P is pressure, V is volume, and T is temperature. Have you ever noticed that both tires basically increase the same amount of pressure on a long ride? If the tires temperatures both increased the *same*, then the overall pressure increase would be LESS on the rear tire than the front, owing to the fact that its VOLUME is greater. But that's not what we observe. The overall increase in pressure as we ride is usually the same, front and rear. The rear tire's temperature increases MORE than the front, compensating for the increased volume and therefore making the overall pressure increase the same. Forgive me physicists if I oversimplified this. Been almost 3 decades since I was in school.

I actually like the way that Yamaha designed this. With one push and roll action, you can both turn on the system, and set your desired speed.

Looks fairly normal to me. There's more rubber back there, doing a lot more work. My FOBO TPMS usually indicates about 15-20 degrees warmer on the rear of the 'wing. Don't have one on the Tracer yet.

If you have to HOLD the switch in order to work properly, but they otherwise work OK, then it is absolutely, positively the latching mechanism in the switch itself. As scary as it might sound, it's not that difficult to tear down the switch for cleaning.

Man that satin blue is just gorgeous. Oh, and yeah, the rest of the bits are nice, too.

Any battery supplied trickle charger would die long before two weeks. Even the largest UPS battery backup couldn't keep your battery charged, simply owing to the circuitry in the charger pulling it's own current, even if it's not delivering anything to the actual motorcycle battery. I think you'll probably find that you are already doing the best procedure. But I certainly do find the problem rather interesting and am interested to hear others ideas. Perhaps if you have access to sun, you could deploy a solar powered charger?

Oh yeah, my bad. Are you getting so much vibration on your bike that you need bar end weights? How many miles? It took about 1000 miles for my 2020 GT to smooth out. Now its butter smooth up to around 6k. Truth be told you could probably go with just about any weights with very minor modifications. You might even benefit from a throttle body sync.

R&G make a set specifically for the Tracer with factory hand guards. I'm sure there are plenty others.
