  1. Looks like a great trip, with you're experience out west you should be a motorcycle tour director in retirement.
  2. The sooner you do it the better. Old stickers tend to take longer to remove. Jump ahead to minute 3:00... Sticker Removal
  3. OK I understand now.... Found this on the FJR owners site... So I got some Blaster's Advanced Dry Lube from Home Depot to try and loosen up the latch on the left side. Sprayed quick burst on each of the locking bars and at the main bar by the latch a couple bursts and it worked great. The latch is moving quite easily now. FJR Owners
  4. I'm not sure if I'm understanding you but, do you have the same problem with the case off the bike as on. Sometimes if the case is not attached to the bike properly it can case difficulty closing the latch? I always found the Yamaha cases to be finicky to latch.
  5. Color Rite... Search for 2019 Yamaha Tracer GT Color Rite Motorcycle Paint Search for BWM2 on the Color Rite site... BMW2 Yamaha motorcycle color codes are almost always located under the stock seat (A). in some cases the color code is located under the front fender (B). In any case, if you cannot locate your color code, look in the owner's manual which has the original color code.
  6. Yamaha Niken... Wierd but Bloody Wonderful. Mossy's take...

  8. I participated in the crowdfunding campaign for Mo'Cycle. I thought I would have my AirBag Jeans and Vest by now. I hope this comes to fruition. Here is the latest update .... Update #7 from Mo'cycle Airbag Jeans Posted by Mo'cycle on Jul 19, 2023 • 5:41AM PDT Timeline production The good news is that all the materials needed for production have been delivered and are in place at the factories in Italy and France. However, the bad news is that both countries typically close down all factories during the vacation month of August. As a result, production will not begin until September, with delivery expected in October. We have been making efforts to expedite the production before the vacation period starts, and as a result, we have managed to secure around 70 pairs of airbag jeans for delivery by the end of this month, July (specifically the black jeans in waist sizes 29 to 33). The remaining airbag jeans will be delivered in October. As for the airbag vest, the timeframe is still uncertain, but we are actively working on it. We sincerely apologize for the delays. With experience in handling productions, this is the first time we have faced such a delay. How it works https://www.airbagjeans.com/airbag-outfit
  9. Look back on this thread to see where I added spacers to the bottom of the screen to change it's angle, this improved the Powerbronze a lot for me. Also try moving up and down on the bike with the tall PowerBronze screen on? I went from sitting low to sitting up really straight till I found the least turbulence and ended up cutting my screen, and now feel it is a close to perfect as it can be. Cutting the screen is really easy. There are many tutorials on you-tube.
  10. According to the experts engine braking is not harmful...
  11. Just followed the link in your previous post. Don't forget to add your new bike to the end of your posts 🙂
  12. Most everything soon is gonna be operated and run by AI anyways. 😄 (If these posts had sound they would be indistinguishable).
  13. Good Luck with the new bike. $9499 for the 900GT seems like an decent deal with the option you installed.
  14. I probably have a million car miles driven (and over 7000 flight hours) and have never caused an accident. I have however been hit on all sides by other drivers. I am very alert to distractions and how they can affect us. You make it sound like the best drivers will never get into an accident. I pay plenty of attention but sometimes the machine is quicker than us humans. Sorry you seem so bothered by all of this. I'm over it, carry on.
  15. I often drive 8-10 hours in a rental car to get to work. Love adaptive cruise for long drives on the interstate. It allows me to relax more and the vehicle often brakes before I would when someone ahead does something stupid. Not for use around town or short drives, but I could see using it for touring on a motorcycle. Sort of like quick-shifters and traction control, people don't know what they are missing till they try them 😉
  16. I went down this road with my 2017 FJ-09. Tried the Calto tall boots (29" inseam), and felt like I was walking in women's high heel shoes. Next went with a T-Rex lowering link and skid plate and it worked very well for me. Never damaged the sump in a few thousand miles. Performance did suffer slightly but I'm not that aggressive a rider so it was a good trade off. With my Niken I installed the HyperPro kit which adjusts both the front and rear and increased my riding confidence greatly. It came from Europe in about a week and had the setup steps/settings included. I had it installed by my local shop as I didn't have the required tools. You make also need to shorten the side-stand if you lower the bike. That has been documented on this site. HyperPro FJ-09 / Tracer I've since removed the platforms from the tall boots and now have a regular pair of (albeit expensive) normal riding boots.
  17. Well look at that. Top 'and' side cases installed, and a pillion too 😁 Looking at the frame and rear panniers my guess is that these are 2018/2019 Nikens. https://www.yamaha-motor.eu/en/corporate/about-us/cycling-tours/tour-de-france/
  18. Removed the fenders (10 minute job), and fitted Mudwing Medflaps to my 2019 GT. No hardware just peel and stick, which I doubt would last long. I used some short rust free bolts with lock nuts to secure and sealed the gap with black Silicone RTV adhesive sealant. Used thread locker on stock hardware and sprayed the bolt heads black. Two last pics are looking back from front. Total cost $25.
  19. So from the link above find the part number for the color you want and do a google search. Then it's just about finding a store that ships. Try ebay also. Red panels B5U-F17B0-00-02

  21. Kiwav now has bar end mirrors for Nikens. As noted earlier in this thread I have Kiwav mirrors in the regular handle bar spot and love them. https://kiwavmotors.com/en/parts/controls/mirrors/bar-end/viperii-all-blue-bar-end-mirrors-compatible-for-yamaha-m16-threaded-handlebars-detail https://www.amazon.com/KiWAV-Motorcycle-Mirrors-ViperII-compatible/dp/B07SGQP8S4/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=25IIXN4BV8UPN&keywords=kiwav+yamaha+bar+end+mirrors&qid=1687804469&sprefix=kiwav+yamaha+bar+end+mirrors%2Caps%2C96&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1
