I’ve gone through 2 sets in the last 4 years and 100k miles.

I’ve ran just about every brand of tire on a motorcycle out there. On the FJ, I’ve exclusively ran Dunlop’s. For the last 15 years or so, I average around 25k miles a year on various bikes. Dunlop’s are affordable, last a long time, and perform well for me.

a wrap or two of electrical tape around the plug will stop the plug from disconnecting.

I say stick with a challenge until it's achieved.

This thread has been known to go months without a challenge conquered.

I’m over 100k miles on my 2015. I did the first change at 600 and change it every 4000ish. She runs as good as the day I brought her home.

They seem to me to be rock solid stable. Hold a line a bit better and turn easier. Dunlop’s are the only tires I’ve ever ran on the FJ. The 2’s and 3’s didn’t seem all that different to me. The 3’s do last longer. The 4’s so far just feel and perform better. We will see about their longevity.

I’d get a regular street tire. I had to ride several miles on Dunlop Roadsmart 3’s. They were fine. I have the 4’s now. They are phenomenal by the way. I would ride in the gravel with them if needed.

Front wheel bearing removal. Possible without specialized tool?
micah2074 replied to petshark's topic in FJ-09 Tech Questions
When you go to pop it out, if it won’t come try the other side. I couldn’t get one side to budge. I put the tool in the other side and the bearing came out eazy-pezy. The spacer fell out. Then I flipped the wheel over and the first bearing came out as easily as the other. -

That looks like it would work. Same idea just uses a slide hammer. -
This, I talk to the LEO just like I would anyone else, but my momma taught me good manners. I've learned that troopers don't like to be asked questions... especially in OK.

I din't think you can move that spacer enough to do that. I bought this and it worked great. Pit Posse PP1692 Motorcycle Wheel Bearing Remover Separator Extractor Puller Tool I couldn't get the link to work. Do a search and you'll find it. -
If your worried about the chain take it back and have the dealer look at it. I run mine on the loose side. Did you get a 2021?

Just got my son a used bike. Around here the used bike market is crazy high right now. Darn tax returns and stimulus checks. I was patient and found a decent deal though.
