  1. I'm not sure what an ergal fitting is? As far as being good enough, a steel braided hydraulic line is rated to meet a specific psi, I'm sure even a generic hydraulic hose will meet or exceed the psi ratings. I would think the extra costs of some kits is custom hose colors and special anodized coloring on the fittings.
  2. Exactly, I have been staying at home for the same amount of time. We have been having some amazing weather lately and it is killing me to stay home.
  3. That is a sad thing to read, you must be chomping at the bit.๐Ÿ˜ฒ
  4. Before you start the motor, clean any grease and fingerprints off the exhaust with alcohol.
  5. Correct, I did not need to remove the airbox. I would say to anyone considering this, it isn't by any means difficult but is is involved. The front and rear calipers and master cylinders all feed to the ABS pump, physically trace each line from point A to point B before you start so you are familiar with the routing because once you remove the old lines, you will be replacing the new lines using the same routing. It might look intimidating at first but if you are methodical and follow the correct routing, it isn't difficult.
  6. LOL, you just never stop do you? ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘ Too bad you cant get your last new GT back, it was very nicely set up.
  7. @MemphisTracer - since you are on a roll outfitting your bike, these frame sliders double as highway pegs! ๐Ÿ‘ EXTENDED 2014 2015 2016 Yamaha FZ-09 FZ09 Frame Sliders FJ-09 2018 USA This set of sliders will fit on a 2014, 2015 or 2016 Yamaha FZ-09. Will also... "This is our EXTENDED version of these sliders. They are a full 1" longer than our standard version for even more protection for your bike. Each slider measures approximately 4" long, and 1-3/4" in diameter and the bolt is 10mm."
  8. I changed out my lines a few months ago and removed all of the front bodywork and tank to get access.
  9. No problems squeegeeing any air or soap bubbles out and it dried crystal clear?
  10. Mine has been on order for over 2 weeks now. I went with the recommendations here and ordered the nano-glass.
  11. @Bill H - Caps Lock ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
  12. It splices into the existing brake switch wiring, 2 leads. It doesn't have an activation point, it simply works. I'm not sure how or why the switch would ever leak but I suppose given enough time anything is possible?
  13. So, are you talking about LED indicators on the front or rear? The front indicators already have 3 leads and the rear doesn't have running lights.
  14. Those brake switches are prone to getting clogged up with oils and road debris and not functioning correctly. I switched to a hydraulic switch with no exposed moving parts to fail. - $20 Spiegler Brake Light Switch Out of all the hydraulic brake light switches on the market, there's only one...
  15. Glad to hear you are OK, the last thing you need is more tragedy in these crazy times.
  16. I just didn't want to put out bogus info. If you look up above the starter motor, on the inside of the frame, you should see the hard lines. Probably easier from the top when the tank is off.
  17. I love riding in that area, Apiary, Vernonia, Mist, Jewell, Clatscanie. - Jealous! My favorite is North from Tillamook through Garibaldi on Miami-Foley Rd and Necanicum Highway.๐Ÿ‘
  18. *I stand corrected*. OK, so it was the middle section of those lines that is hard line. I had to pull them down from behind the frame, right above the starter motor to cut them in half. I had to pull each half out from the front and rear respectively.
  19. That looks like a good one, the one I have looks similar. @Matt 2703 - there are a few versions sold that are just a flat sheet of metal that mount with zip ties, VERY cheezy design in my opinion, make sure it is a wrap around design with screw holes for mounting like the one linked above.
  20. At least in my case I use the Active Tune
  21. OK, so on the NA version of the bike those rubber lines are different. The lines from the ABS pump to the front mount block are a thin silver hard line like you see on a car. So there may be other differences between the NA and OZ versions as well.
  22. They would have to give it at least a 6 gallon fuel tank due to the already poor fuel economy, let alone the right wrist temptations! ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘ They would also need to fix the 'Transformers' headlights/ front end๐Ÿคฎ. I really like what Yamaha did with the European Tracer 700, If Yamaha released a larger, full-spec version w/dual direction QS, IMU and electronic suspension, I would be all over it.
  23. Unless you are really abusive or heavy on your clutch the plates should last a LONG time. One of the steps with the slipper clutch install is measuring the thickness of the assembled clutch pack, this will let you know if the plates are within spec. There are optional thickness plates available to modify the stack thickness, but if for some reason the stack thickness is on the thin side then it might be the perfect time to replace the friction plates.
  24. @dazzler24 - Go out and look at your bikes brake lines, front or rear. Trace them and you will see that they go to a mounting block where the flex line connects to a hard line and then to the ABS pump. Braided line manufacturers try to make things more efficient by eliminating the mounting blocks (not sure of the correct term) where a flex line connects to a hard line and running only a single line from point A to point B, eliminating junction points.
  25. The price on all of them just raised $500, at lunch time they were all listed for $6499.
