  1. I've gone lower and went back to stock and previously considered the Street Naked and now am again, along with the Pro Taper Contour Raptor, EVO Dirt Track (which are too wide) and the Neken 133, Orig. RMZ and Orig. YZF because of their increased sweep. I've also considered the Rizoma MA008, MA005 & MA009 (as well as others). You stated you test fitted them, have you installed them yet as others have but some deleted the hand guards. A few questions. Is dimension D have adequate room to fit the OEM risers (I believe they do)? Do the ends needed to be drilled and tapped for the OEM bar end threaded inserts? With the KTM hand guards I have, do you know if there still be room for the OEM controls given dimension F is .79" (10 mm) less ? I can heat the plastic on the hand guards where they clamp onto the bar as needed to extend them into the first inside bend. Another concern is that I'm planning on buying the McCruise CC with their new 5/8" wide control switch that is vertical and fits between the left control pod and clutch perch, thus demanding that much more room. Attached are photos of the lower Outlaw Racing TH-08 Low bars I had installed and my current bar set-up. Thanks
  2. I live at 630 or so feet ASL so not an issue for me but a little clamp on the feed line would have solve your problem, something like on an IV bag. Now obviously something like the Scott Oiler may work for higher elevations for 6 times the $. I've used a SO decades but the needle valve does wear out...
  3. Like California and other western states Here we're entering winter, got 5 inches already, we test year on record breaking last year's record. Actually killed a lot off vegetation and ruined the corn crop. Wish we could send some rain down to you...
  4. What issue did you have with the Lubeman, was it the new version? What oil did you use and was that part of the problem? I use a blend of chain saw blade line and Marvel Mystery Oil. Mine has the forked lube head (which I may angle down a bit more) but seems to be functioning OK Oh, Danny pack not fancy...
  5. Also consider rubber covered foot pegs and Grip Puppies, a Lubeman chain oiler ($28 vs minimum $115 for other automatic oilers, I can send you pics of my install) A shield spoiler and side and rear auxiliary lights are a big plus. A balaclava helps with helmet noise + ear plugs and can be soaked with water in hot weather. I wear a fancy pack type Camel Back. I have the Scala PackTalk. Lots of other tips...
  6. No fires by you? It's terrible It's bad enough for people but the wildlife, poor Koalas. They cover the fires here, as bad or worse than in California
  7. Take a look at my pics above of the 2015 R1 Brembo MC and my own fluid reservoir and bracket with mirror mount together with 320 mm R1 discs make a huge improvement along with HH+ pads
  8. Is this the kit you installed and if so, how is it's wind protection? STORM Handguard - Single Point Bar End Mount (threaded) - Barkbusters Did you need the below adapters and it looks like you added spacers inboard of the BB bar end piece? Barkbusters Adaptor Kit Yamaha FZ-07 / FZ-09 / MT-09 / FJ-09 / Tracer 900 / XSR900 / FZ-10 / MT-10 Thanks
  9. Hmmm, I tried lower bars but they didn't have enough sweep and eventually too low for my poor back so I went back to stock. I'll have to check my file for the OEM dimensions and a half dozen other bars I evaluated but are these bar's rise comparable to stock but with significantly more sweep? I also.like the N I also like your Barkbusters because they don't take up bar space like my KTMs, which are otherwise great.
  10. Hey, you're too fast, I caught and corrected that already I prefer Miralax and Metamucil...
  11. Good to hear! When I checked mine at 22k miles ALL were very tight and I had to re-shim them all. Flushed and changed the coolant too. Went with iridium plugs and the OEM were like new. I hope everything is good too when I check again also at 44k, which is only 10k away! . Plumbed hoses to the TB ports so I check sync easypeasy any time. I use an old fashioned mercury manometer but also have a TwinMax. Last check they were still dead nuts on but I guess now I'll have to check cuz a you...
  12. Yeh, I think I lowered it too but my memory hasn't improved after 65 and now will have to check... Thanks though!
  13. What did they recommend you set the APS at? BTW, I really like my Matt's compassion & rebound adjustable cartridges and .95 Sonic springs, and the K-Tech Razor R is very, very good, it's at least as good as my Penske 2-way on my VTR
  14. I had lower bars for many miles but went back to stock because of bod issues Narrower bars may help but with KTM hand guards there's not a lot of room to play with My Brembo R1 brake MC fits either way as do the OEM heated grips Rubber covered foot pegs, a Sargent and good screen make all othe difference But the lower bars did just kiss the black tank cowl, no harm no foul
  15. I thought the BBs helped a bit along with a non-damped CS sprocket, TB sync, AP cal, and Grip Puppies. And I did not find vibration objectionable at all except mildly so around 4500~5000 RPM in 6th gear.
  16. How many miles on your FJ, or between swing arm & linkage greasing (steering head?)? I know the service spec is lowish and I feel guilty I've not done mine yet in 34k miles. I should have done them when I installed my K-Tech Razor R shock, and have just made it more difficult as I just installed a Lubeman semi automatic chain oiler. Have people found them dry and or corroded?? I know the SA pivot bolt is exposed and can readily rust; cost this corrosion make tougher to remove? I'd like to install a cruise control thiswinter, most all my other kids and maintenance are done or not due for a while other than an oil and filter change and some fuel stabilizer in a full tank... Thanks PS, yes that's my 25 year old MTD 2-stroke snow thrower next to the FJ, which is behind the VTR and next to the RD; winter reared it's head early this fall with the leaves still falling. 😞
  17. Take a look at the KTM 790 Adventure (not the R) or the soon to be released KTM 890 Duke, ooh lala!
  18. I've also had an issue with the twin contacts within the switch which may need some dielectric grease but it is tricky to dis and reassemble correctly
  19. I have the exact same pump but its branded as Dynaplug https://www.amazon.com/Dynaplug-Ultra-Compact-Volt-Inflator/dp/B01F6I4222/ref=pd_rhf_ee_s_bmx_1_5/136-2280354-7629562?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01F6I4222&pd_rd_r=b0cec0f3-e7d3-42bc-a199-705b1bd98243&pd_rd_w=lyIvy&pd_rd_wg=jFU2f&pf_rd_p=267fe2c3-d92f-4dfc-ac6e-0821d9326e4f&pf_rd_r=ZKPSSAR6XBFQ258YNJN6&psc=1&refRID=ZKPSSAR6XBFQ258YNJN6
  20. I only run B in the rain, and even then rarely. +1 on a winter gas potentially causing a mileage drop. I've never got the +45 mpg many others have. E10 kills mileage too, as we only have E10 available unless I'm up in certain Cheeseheadland counties. With a light -to- moderate right wrist I was recently managing 43 or so mpg with my OEM size DB screen (but with adjustable spoiler on top) but it dropped to <39 (albeit with a heavy-handed throttle input) with my cold weather Givi Tour barn door screen and spoiler. I'll have to check TB sync, which I can do easily because I plumbed vacuum lines extending from the TB ports to the left side that have capped 3/16" hose connectors. But over the last 35k miles, I'd say I've averaged maybe about 40 mpg or so. But with that low of mileage, Baobei, there is something wrong!
  21. Comparable size and appearance at 1/5 cost and decent quality Ebay 1/4 Double Bubble Windshield WindScreen For Yamaha FJ-09 MT 09 Tracer 2015-2016 B TT $26.99 Free Shipping
  22. Oh, on my fastest Red 15 I also installed revalved and shim stacked OEM fork cartridges with adjustable preload, compression and rebound in the left leg along with the right leg less compression both with Sonic .95 springs and different weight and level fork fluid and customized K-Tech Razor R shock which altogether transform handling and enhance braking with less front end dive and near perfect F/R balance including when accelerating. So stopping is far better and more so with the suspension upgraded. A flashed ECU, Sargent saddle, a variety of wind screens for different weather, and a XSR900 slip/assist clutch also contribute to the synergy of control, comfort and smoothness braking and turning especially when cracking the "ton" consistently...
  23. BikeMaster sells a brake MC mirror perch bracket clamp cheap I installed a 2014 R1 Brembo MC with integral bleed port and adapted an ebay brake fluid reservoir with my own L-bracket between the mirror extender and clamp / perch. 2014 R1 320 mm rotors and Forks by Matt caliper spacers and longer bolts with Speigler lines and EBC HH+ pads means stoppies are easily controllable
  24. They're OK, similar to the RS3 but lower mileage; I went back to the RS3 for the money, though I' tempted by the Conti RA3s
