This is on my list of things to do to the bike before spring. I think all I need is the peg, the rubber bit, and the bolt that holds the rubber bit on -- and I can reuse the pivot pin and retention clip from the original pegs. johnap987 Posted November 27, 2015 Share Posted November 27, 2015 I bought them on ebay, installation is a 90 min work. Seller has instructions on their website. Brand is Dzell. I didn't cut any cables, just inserted the ones on the turning signal module into the sockets of connector and then inserted male connector on socket. There is a post on this leds. You'll need the pegs, the rubber bits, 2 springs and one pivot pin. You can reuse the right side pivot pin (cotter pins required). The rubber bit fits nicely on the peg without hardware. Don't bother purchasing the peg feelers as the Tenere only has a peg feeler on ONE side, so just go without. This is NOT a straight up swap! It takes some work as you'll have to grind or cut off about 5mm from the new pegs. Then fitting it all on the bracket takes some fiddling. When you've got it done it's pretty tight and wants to bind a bit on movement, but spraying some penetrating grease on the pivot pins and spring made it all work great! I rode today with them, and they truly are an improvement! Totally worth the effort and look great too! I fabricated a bracket from a galvanized steel tie plate I had lying around from a construction project. I bolted it to the windshield mounting bracket. Got up early and headed to, "The Dam Diner" it's by the south west side of the Ocala National Forest in Central Florida. Good eats.The FJ09 is a dream! Nimble, responsive, fun! Since I'm used to riding old school bikes I'm getting used to smooth easy shifting. I have to remind myself that I don't have to wait to let the engine spin down to shift. I set up the display to my liking. Display 1: ODO,Trip-1, C-Temp. Display 2: Avg. Fuel, Crent fuel, Time trip, Display 3: A Temp, Trip-2, ODO. Really like the feel of this bike. Miles of smiles today. Averaging 45 MPG. She feels like she wants to blast off but I'm being good as far as recommended break in as per manual... It's all real good. Life is grand....I tell everyone this, so don't feel like I'm picking on you. These engines are not like the old engines we used to get new. The manual doesn't say you can't spin it up or blast off, it does say not run in high RPM for a "prolonged" period. Blasting off is anything but "Prolonged". So go have fun, just don't burn it up to long, monitor the heat. Ken, Candy Ass L.D.R. I also installed an extra clutch cable alongside the existing/functioning one. Now if it breaks out on the road somewhere, I can hook up the spare in a couple minutes and be on my way.
