I figured this one was going to be really difficult... What’s next? He wheeled in to make a phone call I guess. I rode up and asked to take a picture he said yes. As for what's next... I'm thinking..... 🌝 "It doesn't matter who walks in, you know the joke is still the same" Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. USA
Premium Member fddriver2 Posted February 10, 2020 Premium Member Share Posted February 10, 2020 Well. The weather is very questionable here in the Northern hemisphere. So let's keep it simple. Something you find "interesting " or "unique" on your commute or your ride nearby home. It could be anything really. An explanation of why you find it interesting and/or unique would be nice but not necessary. "It doesn't matter who walks in, you know the joke is still the same" Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Premium Member fddriver2 Posted February 10, 2020 Premium Member Share Posted February 10, 2020 A bit of clarification. I live in South Florida. So it's pretty easy to find something unique. An example is Hard Rock Casino. 10 minutes away. The only guitar shaped hotel in the world. 30 minutes away. Hard Rock Stadium. Originally Joe Robbie Stadium. Interesting (kind of) What made the construction of the stadium truly unique was that it was the first multipurpose stadium ever built in the United States that was entirely privately financed. And of course an hour away is the Florida Keys or the Everglades National park. I also spent my youth in Grafton WVA Population in 2010 was about 5,000 so it's a pretty small town. But there are 4 things I can think of right off the top of my head that are unique - interesting in/about it. Home of Mother's Day, founded in 1908 Both of WVA's National Cemeteries are there B&O Train station and the Willard hotel Tygart Lake dam. You could take a picture of your bike at all four of those places and it wouldn't take an hour. So it's obviously very free form. Research your area find a bit of history and go get it. 🌝 3 "It doesn't matter who walks in, you know the joke is still the same" Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. It's not technically a favorite place, but just a roadside rest area near Jones Creek, Texas that always makes me smile when I see it. It was here, way back in the spring of 1990, that a friend I highly respect pulled me aside after a very spirited run down the local river road. His comment to me: "You've got to slow down or you’re going to kill yourself. I think you could be a damn good road racer... you should look into that." That simple remark set the wheels in motion, and for the next 20 years I was doing some combination of sprint and endurance racing, including several years instructing for a track day program after I retired from competition. I ride on the street just for fun now, but I can't help but smile when I think about how a simple conversation on a Sunday morning ride changed my motorcycling experiences for the better. Good memories of a favorite place... So twenty years ago what were you riding when your friend started you on this path?

It was actually thirty years ago, which I personally have a hard time believing and/or acknowledging. I had a Suzuki GS1150E and a Ducati 750 Paso at the time... on the ride I mentioned above, it was definitely the Paso. I bought a wrecked Honda NT650 Hawk GT as my first race bike, and was on the track a few months later. Good times.
Premium Member fddriver2 Posted March 7, 2020 Premium Member Share Posted March 7, 2020 Well it has been 3 days shy of a month. It wasn't really that tough of a challenge. Was it? 🥺 "It doesn't matter who walks in, you know the joke is still the same" Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. USA

The bump up into recent activity may be enough to restart the game, especially now that spring is here and people are out riding again.

I've been wanting to do so for years. Shoot me a PM if you want to chat about it. With the various track day operators, there are so many more options now than there used to be... you don’t have to ‘go racing’ to just get on the track anymore! trevinator
thought it was interesting to be able to ride across and then ride right up to this lock, and i think it looks cool, being its the first picture i have of my bike during the riding season! for the next challenge, a picture of your fj-09 in front of or on top of a waterfall. 2
