  1. Not true, the only way that could happen is if you pumped the brake pedal enough to eject the piston and the system filled with air. When you pump the brakes, the fluid from the reservoir fills the caliper, when you push the piston back into the caliper the fluid returns to the reservoir, its a closed system. EDIT **additionally** how does the pedal feel? is it firm or spongey? A quick bleed (not a flush) literally takes a minute to check for air bubbles and wont hurt to verify.
  2. I'm not sure what this parts official name is but it (2 pc) fits through rubber grommets to hold on the tail light. With these in place, I couldn't get the light assembly tight enough to fit securely. Once removed, the light housing sits directly on the rubber grommet and tightens down very securely.
  3. I have considered the same, a naked bike in the 600-700cc range would be fun.
  4. Look at the pads in the caliper, are both pads in the slot on the front of the brake carrier? This only takes 2-3 minutes and can be done without removing the wheel. Remove the 2 bolts holding the rear caliper and wiggle the caliper off of the carrier, the pads should be hanging on by the rear with a slide pin. Hold the pads up into the caliper and re-seat the pads onto the notches on the carrier - there is only one way to do it and they are either in or they aren't. Install the 2 mount bolts and pump the rear brake and try again. While the caliper is off of the carrier you could pump the brake pedal to make sure the piston is moving, you will have to pry the pads apart to get them to fit over the rotor.
  5. I live within an hour of 2 tracks in Washington, the 3rd is less than 2 hours away and the 4th is less than 4 hours away. I have thought about getting a dedicated track bike but doing that more than just once in awhile can get quite expensive. Someday...
  6. @limpy88 - What could you have possibly run over that would put a huge gash through the tire carcass like that? Glad to hear you were able to get stopped safely. On a positive note, virtually any brand name tire you install will be an improvement in traction and handling compared to the stock tires.
  7. Little fella is admiring the well used tire, thinking - "Damn dude, you took it all the way to the side wall - GOOD JOB!"😎
  8. The seat looks great, I really admire what Terry can accomplish for what he charges. If I didn't already have a custom seat built I would definitely be contacting Terry. I am almost the exact same size and had the same results with my custom built seat, it fits perfect in the lower position and I am on the balls of my feet at a stop light if I were to ever put both feet down at the same time. Mine is at least a full inch thicker than stock but I don't consider that a negative as it also increases the seat to foot peg distance making it a little easier on my knees.
  9. Again, I think those numbers are very optimistic. Sure, dyno numbers will vary a small percentage based on calibration, weather, elevation, air density etc, but not to the point of getting almost 20hp higher than anyone else has ever achieved. Even in 2wheeldynoworks own video post they list the results - "2019 Tracer 900 GT with a full Titanium Akrapovic Exhaust System and our 2WDW Custom ECU Flash spittin' fire on the dyno! 117hp/65tq at the wheel" Here is a typical result for a stock FZ or FJ. 104-105hp Here is a typical result for a tuned FZ/FJ with full Akropovic system 114hp
  10. I don't know why your post is so hard to read, how are you entering text? This isn't my bike, but I have mine wired to work in conjunction with the turn signals just like this video.
  11. Just saying I have watched a lot of Nels tuning videos, as well as other tuners dyno videos, and I have never seen a FJ/FZ with a full exhaust and race software even exceed 120hp.
  12. Exactly. Stock is 105hp and with an Akrapovich full system, Nels was able to get it tuned to 117hp on his dyno in the video above.
  13. After I had the initial flash, I sent it back a 2nd time to set it to A-Mode and for the Active Tune module and then a 3rd time for a different fuel map for the Scorpion exhaust. The 2nd and 3rd flash were completely free!! 👍
  14. That is an extremely bold claim, that's a full15% higher than any other FZ/FJ with a full system and Woolich race software. In a perfect setting on a completely unrestricted bike you will get around 118-120 peak hp.
  15. When I test rode the '17 Ninja 1000 it was right after the FJ and Versys 650 and 1000, all with much more upright and relaxed ergonomics, almost like sitting on a chair. I was trying to place my feet on the pegs and looked down and realized I had to go much further up and back to find the pegs. Awesome bike in every other aspect but with a 33"-34" inseam I would need some aftermarket ergonomic help. I would love to ride one that a taller rider has set-up for comfort and long distance riding. Interestingly the Ninja H2 SX SE is also considered a long distance sport tourer...capable of riding 2-up? 🤷‍♀️ Give them an hour and they will be calling an Uber.
  16. The 2019 base model Tracers have been selling for $7 - $7.5k usd, brand new for several months. I think the fully loaded GT stole some of the appeal of the standard Tracer, I was shocked when my local dealer dropped the price to $8,900 last year, a few weeks later it was $8500 and then $8200 and kept dropping. It must have been a corporate price drop since cycle trader has many listings nationwide at that price. If you didnt need the TFT display, you could outfit a base Tracer very nicely with the current price difference from the GT, - factory heated grips, quick shifter and larger FJR bags, MCCruise, Ohlins suspension and probably have money left over for quality tires.
  17. No kidding, glad you guys are still fighting and moving forward in life. Between work and motorcycles, I have had many injuries (broken foot, knee, wrist, crushed knee and elbow, dislocated shoulder and finger etc.) and in my experience there is nothing as excruciating or debilitating as any injury related to your back, neck to tailbone, its almost like being partially paralyzed.
  18. A day on the bike with temperatures in the 60's is hard to beat. 👍
  19. You will be able to 'upgrade' everything to "GT-Spec" except for the TFT display. Aftermarket cruise control can be purchased from MCCruise. They are THE definitive source for aftermarket cruise control and their service and product is unparalleled. I think anyone here who has purchased one will them an A+. Cruise Control for Yamaha FJ-09 / MT-09 Tracer Save your wrist, fuel and licence with McCruise The heated grips and quick shifter are available as aftermarket or factory parts. The suspension parts are interchangeable but if you are going to spend money on suspension, do yourself a favor and get a 'real' upgrade - NON OEM. For bags, you can buy either the GT bags or oem bags for the FJR which have about 30% more capacity. If you don't absolutely have to have oem bags then you can get something like Givi or Shad for half the price.
  20. Yes, that definitely works but you can only remove the wheel, you cant remove the forks.
  21. You missed the point, he was talking about making his stop motion video.
  22. Only a few hours from the borders of Italy and Switzerland, should be some spectacular riding! 👍
  23. @piotrek and @fr8dog Are the Nitron shocks sold for track use? If you are needing to open the compression to 17 clicks out to be usable for street use, - 3/4 of its usable range, - it seems that they must be built with very firm/ restrictive damping.

  25. No but that does look really clean, I just spliced the wires together.
