  1. I have not used either shock but the R3 has high and low speed compression damping and ride height adjustment. Either shock will be a SUPERB upgrade from stock. Everything I have read about the R3 lists it as a 'race' shock for the most demanding riders. The cheaper R2 might be more reasonable for aggressive street use.
  2. I went out for a ride down to Woodland/ Cougar Wa. area today. The further South I rode, the colder and more overcast it got. The horizon eventually got darker and the roads got wetter from a recent downpour. I cut the ride short by about 80 miles but still rode 275 miles.
  3. Another option for a quick charge is to use something like this direct connected to your battery tender lead. Motorcycle SAE to USB Cable Adaptor Dual USB Cell Phone Charger & Voltmeter USA The upgrade display, with soft LED blue light without glare, would not...
  4. This was less than an hour ago in Western Washington, and those prices are after the price drop a few weeks ago due to the surplus.
  5. On my last chain install, I added a little to much tension and the flare actually split. I had to order a replacement master link.☚ī¸
  6. I agree with @BBB on not direct wiring to the battery unless you also add an inline switch. There are several 12v 'switched' leads available.
  7. +1 You cant beat Sprocket Center for service and their SuperLite sprockets last forever. 👍
  8. Cool! Glad to hear it is all fixed and working properly for you now. Time to ride.👍
  9. What was the solution? Last time you posted the ABS light was on and the speedo was malfunctioning.
  10. I really like the Sport, I have followed it for many years, unfortunately it was never offered in the USA.
  11. It really makes you appreciate the freedom of riding. Our restrictions eased up a bit last week, we had phenomenal weather and I rode a bit over 1200 miles in 4 days.
  12. As much as I love the FJR, I would like to see a fresh redesign with a weight loss and lower CG, like Honda did with their newest Goldwing.
  13. @Wintersdark - here is a direct link J&P Cycles 1-1/2" Black Universal Clamp On Footpeg Mount Kits â€ĸ Designed to accept any male mount H-D style footpegs<p />â€ĸ Available in... 14. What features are you hoping Yamaha updates or implements? I would like a more updated/ advanced electronic package with IMU for lean angle and cornering ABS and TC and I wouldn't be opposed to Yamaha offering a second version with semi-active electronic suspension like the FJR, R1M or even the Versys.
  15. I have been thinking the same thing, I'm not expecting any huge advancements or many revised/ updated models this coming year.
  16. Mine did the exact same thing, I thought the GPS was malfunctioning until I swapped out the GPS units between my car and truck. All of them worked fine in the vehicles but they would lose power when connected to my bike, it turned out that I had a faulty direct-wire power cable. I replaced the power cable and haven't had any issues with the GPS units in over a year now.
  17. @wordsmith - Not to derail this thread but I am dying to know, what is your criteria for the duration of changing bikes? Is it a fixed 6-9 months on the calendar? or when the little rubber nubs wear off the tires? or in line with a seasonal equinox? đŸ¤Ŗ Seriously though, the R9T is a very nice bike, isn't yours only a few months old?
  18. Do you have any photos or diagrams for reference to the method that you use? I am always open to new methods if it is more effective and it might be beneficial to a lot of other members on this site.
  19. Well, at least you know that the throttle bodies are synced perfectly. 👍
  20. @foxtrot722 - Thanks for the 'how-to' pictorial. Your method of supporting the bike certainly works, I just use a floor jack under the header and raise from the front. I use a folded up towel on the jack so I don't scratch the header but the front tire only needs to be lifted 1/2 inch or so off the ground.
  21. Thanks for the photos, that is EXACTLY how I use my frame sliders. 👍
  22. FWIW, I think the ones I bought are made of Delrin as well.
  23. Not just for 2020, Yamaha has been doing that for quite awhile with both street and dirt models, mixing gloss paint with satin or matte body panels, also various textures, some very smooth others coarse or textured.
  24. @krucymucy - Looks good. Even though I really like the silver on the GT, I am all for making the bike unique and just a bit different than everyone else's. 👍
  25. Are you sure its 5mm? I use the Xena X1 and it has a 6mm pin, it fits the holes in both in front and rear disc. Xena X1 Disc-Lock | MotoSport X1 disc-locks for motorcycles, scooters, quads and ATVs. A stronger, more...
