Winter time weather complaining and off topic discussions

This officially sucks. I have a 2 month old FJ 09 sitting in the garage with a brand new K-Tech Razor installed and the weather is as cold as a witch's tit in a brass bra........and predicted to stay like this. Plus I have a pile of small accessories that came in the mail that I can't install. I've been able to get out for short rides pretty consistently until the last week. Managed to put 500 miles on it since early November. I'm frustrated. At least the Patriots are in the AFC championship game again.

I feel your pain on a spiritual level.

Scott, I'll remember you when trash cans start melting. Wordsmith, sounds like decent summer weather. Not too miserable.

I'm just here to say I finally found a solution how to deal with all the salt on the roads.

I was looking for a good anti-corrosive coat or a lubricant to prevent any kind of corrosion on my Tracer GT.

I found it.

It's called Yamaha TDM 900 :D

Honda CB600F Hornet 2008; KTM LC4 640 SM Prestige 2007; Kawasaki Z1000 2007; Honda CB1000R 2010; BMW R1200GS 2010; Yamaha Tracer 900GT 2018; Yamaha TDM900 2002; Kawasaki KLX230 2020; KTM 690 Enduro R 2022: Bold = current

I would love to have a job where I can be wrong as often as my local weatherman, with zero accountability.    Today’s ‘70+ and mostly sunny’ forecast ended up being a ‘barely 60 and largely damp’ reality.

No worries, I went riding anyway.  Got in about 150 miles, in those part wet/part dry road conditions that guarantee the bike is going to be absolutely filthy by the time you get home.  The pace was more sedate than usual, but it gave me a chance to look around and take in the scenery... a very relaxing & enjoyable ride.   Even the random music play list was on point today:  Patti Smith’s ‘Summer Cannibals’ started just as I got to my favorite part of the river road.

Days like today might change my perception about riding in the rain...

I don't mind riding in the rain so much, it's cleaning up all the mess that gets thrown all over the bike that I don't like!

Oh yeah... it’s a special level of disgusting right now:

I bought my bike used with a tidy tail installed. I was going to reinstall the OEM license carrier/turn signals to stop all the crud from landing on the rear rack and passenger seat - looks like I probably don't need to bother with that.

@nhchris - You are a far more hardy soul than I!  It’s 30 degrees in Houston this morning, and people are acting like it’s the apocalypse.

When we were considering relocating a few years back, I laid a big US map out on the dining room table to consider the various options.   In huge red letters, my wife wrote ‘oh hell no!’ across the Great Lakes and most of the northeast...

I agree with your wife. Too much winter up that way. I'm honestly annoyed by the winters in Missouri as well. Although this one hasn't been so bad. Fall was quite awful though, so far our Fall was colder than our winter!

Ok, when you put that "-" symbol in front of a temperature reading,  That's Just Crazy!

Your world should just stop and you should sit in front of a fireplace until temperatures get back into positive territory.......

Always get concerned when the path to the road for FJ is blocked.   Thank god for Ariens.
