  1. Great pic's of your journey Micah, thanks for taking us along!
  2. The bike may not owe you anything, but show her some compassion and have the head done. you know the history of the motor and I'm sure you have taken care of it. I know more people that have put used engines in bikes and lived to regret it. Sure the engine came out of a low mileage bike, but the last owner use to Rev-bomb it every chance he got till he flipped it over backwards doing a wheelie. There are a machine shops the specialize in doing bike heads that you think are trash and make them as good as new.
  3. I always went by, if the bike has a center stand the rear wheel should not touch the ground. When on the center stand and fully load with luggage, not including rider and passenger.
  4. When I replaced the original chain on my GT at around 10,000mi that had bad O-Rings, there was a very noticeable improvement.
  5. I take a piece of heat shrink tubing and shrink it on the outside end of the cable and shot a little lube into the top of shrink tubing that I didn't shrink (just like a little funnel) I just let gravity do it thing, no mess and only waste a few cents worth of heat shrink.
  6. @2and3cylinders Ain't it funny how the older they get, the less tolerant they become. You'd think they would have learn by now they aren't going to change us.
  7. I might be a little but afraid of the damage that peg mount could the the engine in a low side.
  8. You better watch out the warning sticker, do not remove tag Gestapo will be after youšŸ˜
  9. If that de-tuned engine in that bike returns about the same MPG as the Pan America does that's about 120mi give or take. More than enough range to beat up anybody's body with it whopping two inch suspension travel. I guess you could a run those beach cruiser tires with 15psi air in them to smooth those little ripples in the road out.
  10. I live in South Florida where summer time are temps are 95 degrees plus most days in the summer. I don't notice my bike running any hotter With the Yamaha radiator guard on it.
  11. Itā€™s hard to believe that the Sportster was a true hi performance bike, when it was first introduced sixty plus years ago. When H-D finally killed off the air cooled push rod engine. they had a chance to bring back the Sportster name to itā€™s former glory, but instead they built this abortion.
  12. IT'S BAD ASS!! It doesn't need twin calipers in the front (don't you know you will flip over if you use them} Besides that bag on the back holds a parachute to slow you down. When the that huge rear rotor powered by a two piston caliper can't lock up the tire, so you can skid and lay it down like a real biker. Also the T-Shirt company already has over 30 bolt on custom part's with skulls on them so you make it your own!!šŸ˜ '
  13. That MT09 is pretty nasty looking and not in a good way.
  14. That sounds about right for the bike with those cases and skid plate. From what I have been able to find out, unless you have a relation ship with the dealer or you ordered the bike very early on and had a price in writing your going to pay over list.
  15. I have been slowly racking up some miles on the PA, unfortunately life is getting in the way. I like the bike and am very impressed with all the ride modes that it has . So far I have only played with the street modes and I programed in two of my own. Two of the stock modes are good, Street (I use for rain) and Sport (I use for all else). The rain mode cuts the throttle response and power to much for my liking, reminds me of riding Honda CB360. One of the modes I configured was what I would want for a track day, very impressed with itšŸ™‚ So far I feel the fueling is spot on and no need for a Power Commander or re-flash it this point. Living in South Florida I get a chance to ride around in a lot of heavy rainstorms, luckily they usually don't last long. I would say Pan America and the 900GT offer equal rain protection for the rider, the faster the bike goes the better the protection! One thing about the Pan America is you won't go broke farkeling the bike out right off the bat .You can't buy any thing for the bike, everything is on back order from the T-Shirt company and the aftermarket has nothing yet. .
  16. I had some buffeting on my 2019 GT, with a medium size top case on the back, around big trucks. I put the Givi hand guard extensions on to help keep my hands warmer in the winter. One of the side effects was that they really helped with the buffeting and the light front end feeling at speed.
  17. Nice tool kit @sirepair I'm trying to figure out what the tool with wing nut is?
  18. Kind of sad that Yamaha could not get it right, sure thought on a complete redesigns they would fixed it.
  19. @peteinpaTyping mistake 10050mi, still not good for a chain that was well cared for and has never seen a grunge brush.
  20. @Zach26 That bag looks like it was custom made for the FJ. Do you think they can be used with the factory side cases on a 19 900GT? I would love to get rid of the GIVI top case and rack I put on.
  21. I replaced the stock chain on my 19 900GT, the chain was one of the one's with the O-rings that self destructed. The sprockets were in good shape with 10050mi on theme. I used a D.I.D X-ring and I'm very happy with the results, the chain fixed a vibration that the bike had since new.
  22. That dark tint really sucks you can't even see the cell phone they are holding and texting on!
  23. I hit my first problem with the PA. I can not get my phone to link to the display on the bike and work for navigation. Apparently HD knows about the problem and is working on a re-flash. In doing a little research it looks like a few of the bikes that use this system are having issues that need to be ironed out. Hopefully HD will come out quickly with the re-flash and it will work as it should.
  24. That look's great, kind of reminds me of an old TZ.
